Lead Installer
Lead Installers at Signature Systems of Florida are key members of an elite team that ensures timely delivery of customer systems while maintaining the company’s high standards of quality. Lead Installers will be able to work alone or lead a team of installers in executing projects as directed by Project Managers and project documents. These projects include fire alarm, access control, security systems, IP video surveillance, and sound systems in commercial new construction and retrofit environments.

- Ability to communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations both verbally and in writing

- Installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance of alarm systems and accessories
- Management of alarm system maintenance, including inspections and warranty work
- Analyze blueprints and drawings of fire alarms - as well as related low voltage wiring and electrical systems - to determine the most efficient way to install and upgrade the equipment
- Inspect and diagnose the cause of any issues or failures in the alarm systems, as well as coordinating the repair or replacement of those systems with their manager
- Use standard industry practices or methodologies during installation and troubleshooting
- Work within a strict budget and advising other technicians on proper procedures
- Be familiar with - and follow - all relevant safety requirements
- This is a full-time position, which may require night and weekend work depending upon project schedule.
Installation Helper
Installation Helpers at Signature Systems of Florida are the heart of our field installation prowess, and their work can be seen in well-known buildings all over Central Florida. Installation Helpers will work at the direction of Lead Installers, and motivated Installers should be able to become Lead Installers with a few years of experience. Typical types of projects on which Installation Helpers will work include fire alarm, access control, security systems, IP video surveillance, and sound systems in commercial new construction and retrofit environments.

- Use basic understanding of blueprints and high voltage wiring to efficiently install low voltage wiring and associated electronic alarm devices
- Inspect and perform initial diagnosis of any issues or failures in the system, as well as coordinating the repair or replacement of those systems with their manager

Service Technician
Service Technicians at Signature Systems of Florida are valued ambassadors to our customers, and they are expected to provide an exceptional level of quality to them. We are seeking technicians that think like craftsmen and have a strong drive to deliver the best quality possible.
Service Technicians will have extensive experience with many types of systems including fire alarm, access control, security systems, IP video surveillance, and sound systems in commercial new construction and retrofit environments. Our Service Technicians have experience with the primary manufacturers of our customers’ systems. For example, we frequently service fire alarms manufactured by EST, Notifier, Silent Knight, Siemens, Simplex, FCI/Gamewell and others.
Required Experience / Personal Characteristics:
- Strong product knowledge of most low voltage systems including fire alarm, access control, security, IP video, sound systems and others
- Must be able to envision creative solutions to system problems with little or no technical assistance
- Must be able to manage many simultaneous projects, since often multiple projects are in progress at any given time
- Applicants must be able to work with minimal managerial supervision on a regular basis
- Experience with personal computers is a plus
- A high school diploma or equivalent and 4 - 6 years of industry experience

Job Description:
- Troubleshoot, setup and install many different types of alarm systems
- Maintain daily work logs and fill out service tickets accurately
- Work face-to-face with customers on a regular basis and project an unmistakable image of competence and professionalism to the customer
- Perform end-user training and product support on various types of alarm systems
- Service multiple customers throughout the day, driving to their location, performing service, reporting status and requesting next work item from service dispatcher
- May require overtime for timely completion of important projects
Fire Alarm Inspection Lead
Fire Alarm Inspection Leads at Signature Systems of Florida are chartered with the critically important responsibility of ensuring that buildings throughout Central Florida are protected by fully functioning fire alarm systems that meet NFPA code requirements. They organize, coordinate and manage a team of Fire Alarm Inspection Helpers to efficiently but thoroughly test electronic fire alarm control panels and all peripheral devices attached to the building structure.
Required Experience / Personal Characteristics:
- Comfortable with personal leadership of Fire Alarm Inspection Helpers
- Ability to understand blueprints and fire alarm system drawings
- Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and Local Ordinances
- Ability to be polite and present a professional appearance to customers, building owners, facilities managers and building occupants
- Ability to direct the efforts of Fire Alarm Inspection Helpers on-site for effective testing of fire alarm systems
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
- Ability to recognize obstacles to rapidly accomplishing testing & inspection goals and resourcefulness in finding workarounds and/or escalating the problem
- Ability to communicate information in both one-on-one and small group environments both verbally and in writing

Job Description:
- Acts as ambassador for Signature Systems by introducing him or herself to authorized contact on-site, explains the inspection process and relates any observed deficiencies after the test
- Uses knowledge of fire alarm systems and code to thoroughly test and inspect fire alarm system and devices
- Clearly and completely records all deficiencies in building fire alarm system either in writing or using automated inspection tools (for example BuildingReportsÒ)
- Communicates deficiencies to Signature Systems Service Department, so that deficiencies can be quickly corrected by trained technicians
- Trains Fire Alarm Inspection Helpers on NFPA requirements and Signature Systems’ inspection procedures
- Shows attention to detail in documenting and communicating system deficiencies
- Communicates with monitoring central station to indicate when alarm is being tested and when it becomes live again
- Is familiar with – and follows - all relevant safety requirements

Fire Alarm Inspection Helper
Fire Alarm Inspection Helpers at Signature Systems of Florida are members of the core group that works on-site at buildings throughout the Greater Orlando Area doing the test & inspection of fire alarm systems to keep people and property safe from damaging fires. Working with others on the team, they cycle the electronic fire alarm panel through its functions and physically inspect and test the various other devices in the system such as pull stations, smoke detectors and horn strobes. This position is an excellent training ground for individuals who are interested in a career in low voltage building electronics.
Required Experience / Personal Characteristics:

- Takes directions from Fire Alarm Inspection Lead on-site and quickly learns the Signature Systems procedures for fire alarm inspections
- Maintains a polite and cordial presence to all building occupants who might be present during testing
- Accurately records (in writing or using an automated tool) the operating condition of devices in the fire alarm system

Job Description:
- Nurture and expand the current Signature Systems of Florida customer base within a prescribed territory. Customers include but are not limited to end-users, large contractors and industry professionals
- Recommend innovative yet cost-effective solutions to customer problems
- Frequently visit customers to maintain excellent customer relationships
- Demonstrate Signature Systems expertise by arranging meetings and offering product demonstrations to customers
- Be active in the local low voltage industry, attend local industry-sponsored events and educate local professionals and authorities on new alarm industry codes, products and standards
- The position will have an established sales quota and targets used as the basis for commission payment. Monthly sales forecasting will be required.
- Requires travel on a daily basis among customer locations while being able to manage required daily duties
Inspection Coordinator
The Inspection Coordinator is a pivotal position responsible for organizing and planning the schedules of our Inspection Technicians then dispatching them to various customer sites for Fire Alarm, Fire Sprinkler, Fire Extinguisher and Security System inspections. This individual is in constant communication with customers via phone and email to arrange access to on-site areas where equipment is located. The Inspection Coordinator must juggle the needs of both customers and the company as Technician availability and priorities change. He/she will maintain accurate billing records for Accounting, review and distribute inspection reports to customers and verify/approve Technician time bills.
Required Experience / Personal Characteristics:
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task, reprioritize and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of the Greater Orlando area or good map reading skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One-year related experience or training in customer service, technician dispatching or project management
- Knowledge of the life-safety/security industry is a plus
Job Description:
- Frequently communicate and coordinate with customers and sub-contractors
- Create an inspection schedule 2-3 weeks in advance and coordinate all parties involved
- Create “inspection tasks” in workflow system
- Debrief Inspection Leads after completion of each inspection
- Maintain the dispatch board / schedule
- After inspections, review inspection reports and discrepancies with customers
- Notify Service Coordination Team regarding actions to rectify system deficiencies
- Maintain equipment certifications related to testing equipment
- File completed inspection reports
- Validate Inspection Technician time bills against inspection work orders
- Other duties as assigned
